Nuttamon Pramsumran (1993, born and raised in Thailand, now based in Tokyo,Japan)
[email protected]

One thing that has stayed the same since I was twenty is that I love to write—and before that, I loved to read. I studied theatre and later art theory, and I had chances to explore site-specific and community-based art practices. Text and site or place are important in everything I make. My work often begins by my own words or sometimes other people’s words as inspiration. Now that I’m living abroad as an immigrant, I’ve naturally become more interested in migration. We’re living in a time when many people have mixed backgrounds, can connect easily with others online, and travel more freely than before. I’ve been exploring the stories of my family, myself, and other Thai people living in different countries—how the places we live in shape us, and how bits and pieces from each place become part of our unique identity.
