Parallel Normalities “ Whispering Blue – I heard your voice from the back of a blue car”
Monday, July 17 – Sunday, July 23 2023 *This is a seven-day long performance and performed only once. Parallel Normalities was a three year collaborative project between a Japanese playwright, Natsuki Ishigami who worked on site-specific theatrical and art projects using cities and communities as subject matter, and Thai playwright/ author Nuttamon Pramsamran. As the culmination of the project, “Whispering Blue – I heard your voice from the back of a blue car” was performed in Dansai District, Loei Province, Thailand. This work was an adaptation of the prototype version of the play “Ao ni au” that Ishigami has produced in Kyoto in 2017. For the production, both the Thai and Japanese production team did research in Dansai and Gotemba city, in Shizuoka prefecture, the hometown of Ryuichiro Suzuki who is a photographer and one of the actors in the performance. Ari Chatty Street
4-28 February as a part of Bangkok Design Week 2023
'Ari Chatty Street' is a series of sound installations in 11 locations in Soi Ari. Audiences will learn the history of Ari by hearing the dialogue of anonymous characters speaking about their neighbor through its different eras. They need only scan the QR codes located at different Ari landmarks. Soundbites (with English subtitles) from archives, experimental noise art and radio dramas are some of the clips being used to tell the story of Ari, with many acquired from interviewing real residents and historical researchers. Completing the walk will result in a comprehensive walking tour of Ari encompassing its history and the people who live there.
'Ari Chatty Street' is being presented by local group 'Your Neighbor Ari' in collaboration with writer Nuttamon Pramsumran and sound experimentalist Sajib Azad.

2022 "Hope It’s Mostly Sunny in Sam Yan” 2 – 24 April, 2022 An immersive theatre experience. Audiences follow the route to see short scenes in three restaurants, which partly inspired by the stories of restaurant owners and history of the community, and taste the same food that performers are enjoying. Performers and audience immersed themselves in Sam Yan, formerly known as the area of Thai-Chinese community but now as the area of hip mix-used project near Chulalongkorn University. |

2021 "STiLL" This series of short performances is a result of using devised theatre with seven actors to explore what one feels or thinks of when experiencing the stillness and isolation due to lockdowns and pandemic. Some actors found the way to connect with themselves and some are longing for connection from other people. All performances are recorded at 'home'. |

"Dan Sai Book: A Reimagination of Thai Language
Text Book with Local Youth Group" in Leoi Province, Thailand, in collaboration with the work PRESENCE by Filipino movement artist Raul L. Raquitico Jr. as a part of Loei Art Fes 2021 (LAF) and Creator’s Cradle Circuit by Karakoa
"Dan Sai Book" is a reimagination of the typical instructional Thai text book used across Thailand by means of capturing contemporary and regional/local realities and representations. Through exchanges with the adolescents in Dan Sai, the creation of the book seeks to create a space for the local youth to have power on how they would want to be represented.

"Lady’s Power and Golden Fire" (แรงนางเพลิงสีทอง)
This project seeks to explore how the culture of violence has been normalized in Thailand and its possible connection with Thai soap operas filled with violent actions. The exhibition included a series of collage works and radio drama. Online Solo Exhibition was on show from July to October 2021 on GINGER.

"OK LAND"
A night that looks just like any other night in Angel Land. People come to a convenience store named OK LAND.
They buy what they want and go back to where they belong. But tonight, it’s different. A sense of hunger and hopelessness is palpable. OK LAND looks at debates and perspectives on Thailand’s current socio-political climate. The work poses an important question: Why are people
still haunted by the ghosts of poverty and inequality in the land of smiles, if there are already givers, helpers, and philanthropists?
OK LAND won “Best Ensemble” from Bangkok Theatre Festival 2020 and joined the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2022 in video-on-demand format.

2019
"PART" Following the passing of her aunt, the artist began posing questions to herself as a surviving relative. She discovered stories of fellow Thais who were lost to “forced disappearances” due to their engagement in political or social activism, leaving behind relatives who remain in the dark over the fates of their loved ones. The artist relates this through dialogues that are suddenly forced to become monologues, all presented in video format. Every stage of the creative process, from the initial research to develop a script that brings words to life through cast members to the film shoot that sought to create conversations that transcend space and time, will take place in the main exhibition hall. |

"BURN-OUT" This site-specific performance performed in a 30-year old shophouse turned café and gallery in Bangkok. Eleven short monologues are portrayed by one actor. Monologues are the excerpts from “The Spider's Thread" by Ryūnosuke Akutagawaa, “No Longer Human” by Osamu Dazai, “Breaking the Pig” by Etgar Keret, “In the Penal Colony" by Franz Kafka, a suicide note from 17 year-old boy to his parents and Nuttamon’s short stories that inspired by Millennial generation’s frustration, a common ghost story of Thais living in the city, a soldier who allegedly died from ill-treatment during Thailand’s military training and the sad life of the sunfish. |

"MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR"
A play about a couple who debates about abortion in the art exhibition of a female artist. This original script is inspired by Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and RaoLikit- Bon Lumsop Waa-sidtee by Ror Chantapimpa, Thai female writer whose works were popular during the 1940s-1950s. The play is performed in the solo exhibition “I AM A FEMININE PROTAGONIST: I Look at You” by Kamolros Wonguthum with the light installation at the entrance. The exhibition was on show during the day and turned into a setting for the play at night.

"LA MALADIE DE L'AMOR : Detoxification of a Heart"
The multidisciplinary performance is inspired from the short script “The Malady of Death” of Maguerite Duras. “It’s a story about a man who hires a woman to stay with him so that he can learn about love.” The intoxicating element, rather, is provided by the neutral, unidentified and half-asleep narrator’s voice. Marguerite Duras’s original text is selected by the memory of the actor by writing the French text on the mirror and projection to visualizing another side of the story to homosexuality world. The performance is just likes a collage of dreams about sex, love, guiltiness, and the obsession about the text from “The Malady of Death”. The performance is crossing by 3 languages, French, Japanese and Thai, but it doesn’t matter if the audience could understand text or not. It’s about listening and feeling the journey to the dream.
